microG unofficial installer

Welcome to the documentation for microG unofficial installer v1.3.2.48-alpha. 📱

microG unofficial installer is a flashable zip created by ale5000 that installs microG (by Marvin Wißfeld) on a wide range of Android devices.

No advanced Android skills required — the installer handles the complexity for you — just a compatible recovery and about ten minutes of your time.
(The ten minutes is for reading the instructions. The installation itself is faster. Unless something goes wrong. But let’s stay positive.)

What it does: 🔧 It replaces the proprietary Play Services with microG, a free and open-source re-implementation that keeps your apps happy without handing your entire digital life to a single corporation. Your apps stay. The surveillance apparatus does not.

Credits: 👑 This installer is just the delivery vehicle—the fancy pizza box, if you will. The actual “gourmet meal” (the core engine, infrastructure, and years of research) is the brilliant work of Marvin Wißfeld and the microG Project. For a full list of the brave souls who helped build this vehicle without crashing it into a tree, see the contributors file in our repository.

The ideal: 🔒 Privacy, freedom, better battery life, and the belief that your phone should work for you — not the other way around. (microG is notoriously lighter on battery than what it replaces — your phone might actually survive until bedtime. Revolutionary concept, we know.) 🔋 This project is built on the principle that open-source software can be powerful, accessible, and — as this very documentation hopes to prove — occasionally funny.
